CAPA (Child Abuse Prevention Association) is a local non-profit organization, incorporated in 1981. CAPA’s annual budget is $1.2 million with the Open Arms Shelter representing almost half of the total expenses. Funding comes from fee for service for the shelter, public grants, private grants, and local grass-roots fundraising. CAPA offers over 40 different community and school-based education Outreach Programs focused on child abuse prevention and intervention. CAPA is a United Way Agency.
