All children deserve to be loved, nurtured and kept safe from intentional and unintentional harm.

You will never regret the investment of time, love, and compassion you give to the life of a child.

CAPA offers a variety of programs to the community to help raise awareness about child abuse and its effects on the community.

CAPA, a United Way agency, is a local, non-profit organization chartered in 1981 for the purpose of providing prevention and intervention programs targeted at breaking the cycle of child abuse and aiding its victims.  CAPA offers community and School-based outreach, parenting education, home visitation, safe sleep education, and foster care. CAPA offers professional training for adults who are mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect, offers a family support/mentoring program, and operates the Open Arms Children’s Home, a residential program for abused and neglected children. Since opening its doors in 1985, over 2,543 children have lived in our safe home.
